I think the combination of less power and weight will help me learn better technique without the risk of messing up my Z. With an entry cost of somehere between $1500->10K it makes a good choice since the ar can be disposable if I really mess it up. They are also easy to sell or part out if I decide to get rid of it. After driving each of the trannies I can tell you the auto just sucks. Granted I am a manual transmission biggot, but it was definately designed for "old woman around town driving". As soon as you try and push it, any shifting logic seems to go right out the window. Also if you upgrade the power, (which we all know you are likely to do), the auto will show it's true colors pretty quickly.
